Table tennis player Luka Bakić is the most successful Montenegrin Paralympian in 2025, in the traditional selection of the Paralympic Committee (POK).

He earned his first award for Athlete of the Year by winning a silver medal at the European Championships in Helsingborg - his first individual medal at the world's biggest competitions.

- I achieved the biggest and most important result in my career. Of course, along with the team medal in 2019 in the same city. That Helsingborg somehow suits us, a lot of great results were achieved there. I am very happy with the game and the result, it is the crowning glory of my career - said Bakić.

He emphasized that table tennis means much more to him than results:

- I kept coming back to him even when I was losing and when some dreams were crumbling - Bakić pointed out.

Čedomir Damjanović, who led Bakić to career success, was named the best coach.

The most successful team is the Montenegrin goalball team, which won seventh place at the European Championship A Division in Pajulahti, securing survival in the elite.

The successful year of Montenegrin goalkeepers was completed by the Nikšić team by winning the bronze medal at the Champions League final tournament in Matosinhos, Portugal, and fourth place at the Club World Championship in Espoo, Finland.

The most successful young athlete for the fourth year in a row is swimmer Iskra Dedivanović, who broke personal records at the European Paralympic Games in Istanbul and the World Series Finals in Linz. She won medals in Prague, as well as bronze medals at regional para-swimming competitions.

- I had my ups and downs during the year, but my excellent performance at the Zagreb meeting capped it all. My goal for 2026 is to be better than this one - I'm starting to collect points for Los Angeles and my goal is to qualify for the Paralympic Games - said Dedivanović.

Chess player Predrag Nikač was awarded the award for an exceptional sporting result, while goal shooter Nikola Nikolić and para-shooter Milan Đinović received awards for their achieved results.
