Current MotoGP world champion Ducati rider Marc Marquez said it would be almost impossible to repeat the dominant season he had in 2025.
Marquez won 11 races and 14 sprint races this season and won his seventh championship title in the premier class.
The Spanish driver took control midway through the season, when he achieved a run of seven consecutive weekends in which he scored 37 points, between the races in Aragon and Hungary.
He did not drive in the last four races due to injury.
Analyzing the season, the 32-year-old driver said he did not expect to be so dominant.
"No, I didn't imagine such a great year. I hoped that was the goal, I even said that I would try to fight for the title. But I didn't expect to win in this way, five races before the end of the competition," Marquez told Spain's El Periodico.
"Now I think it's almost impossible to repeat that, because between the sprints and the races, there are so many points to win every weekend, it's not easy. We had a very solid season, with a few mistakes, but we won a lot of races," he added.
Marquez injured his shoulder in a collision with Marko Beceki in a race in Indonesia.
"I'm recovering physically, which is the most important thing. My arm was immobilized for four or five weeks and it's natural for it to lose strength, but now I'm gradually making progress, with check-ups every two weeks to make sure everything is going according to plan. The bone has to heal properly, we have to wait, and the ligament has to heal as well," he said.
"I hope I can move on to more intensive rehabilitation soon. But for now, it's hours on the treatment table, physiotherapy, hyperbaric chamber therapy, anything that helps is a bonus," Marquez added.
The Moto GP championship season begins on March 1, 2026, with the Thai Grand Prix.
