A meeting of representatives of the Ministry, the Institute for Education and the Montenegrin Olympic Committee was held at the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation, dedicated to the further implementation of the OVEP (Olympic Values Education Programme) educational program in primary schools in Montenegro.
OVEP is an educational program of the International Olympic Committee that uses sport and Olympism as a tool for developing values and life skills in children, rather than as additional sports content.
"During the meeting, the importance of introducing the OVEP program, the model of its implementation through the pilot phase, as well as the next steps towards its implementation in schools were discussed," the statement said.
Adding:
"The program is focused on overall personality development, not competition or top-level sport."
The program is based on three key Olympic values:
- excellence, which implies effort, perseverance and giving your best;
- respect, which includes respect for oneself, others, rules and diversity;
- friendship, which promotes cooperation, solidarity and inclusion.
