Franz von Allmen is not stopping - after winning gold in the downhill and team combined, the Swiss skier also won first place in the super-G at the Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina.
Almen was not considered a favorite in this discipline, but he showed that he can do it well, completing the triplet at the Winter Olympics.
The Swiss finished the race in 1:25,32 minutes, beating the leading American, Ryan Cochrane, by 13 hundredths of a second.
Von Allmann thus became the third skier in history to win three gold medals at the same Olympic Games. Before him, this feat was achieved by Austrian Toni Seiler (1956 in Cortina) and Frenchman Jean-Claude Killy (1968 in Grenoble). In the women's competition, Janica Kostelić won three gold medals in 2002.
Cochrane eventually won second place, just like he did four years ago in Beijing, while the bronze medal went to Mark Odermatt, who was 28 hundredths of a second behind Almen.
This is Odermat's second medal at this year's Games, but he still doesn't have a gold medal.
The next men's alpine skiing event is the giant slalom on Saturday, February 14th.
