The second round of the 78th Montenegrin Chess Championship brought interesting duels, and after it, ten participants had maximum performance.
The grandmaster and representative trio were safe.
Nikita Petrov took advantage of the opening move against Andrej Šuković, while Denis Kadrić celebrated with the black pieces against Vladimir Vujošević. In the longest duel of the round, ten-time champion Nikola Đukić defeated four-time champion Predrag Nikač in a long finish.
Blažo Kalezić outplayed Veljko Šćekić with the white pieces, while Božidar Kisić defeated Nemanja Vukčević. The following players had the best performance: Aleksandar Tomić, Željko Rovčanin, Bogdan Podlesnik, Miloš Vlatković and Oleg Jaksin.
The duels between Božidar Ivanović and Mihailo Pušara, Andrej Skvortsov and Armin Mušović, and Veljko Draganić and Mirsad Đoković ended in draws. They each have 1,5 points, the same number as Nebojša Nikčević, who defeated Lazar Marsenić, Miloš Pečurica, who defeated Radomir Matović, and Alvir Sijarić, who defeated Toman Perić, after this round.
In the second round, the following duels of the maximum players stand out: Tomic - Petrov, Kadric - Podlesnik, Vlatkovic - Djukic, Jaksin - Kisic, Rovcanin - Kalezic.
The third round games are scheduled from 16 pm, and can be followed on the website of the Chess Federation of Montenegro.
There are still nine rounds of interesting fights ahead, and the championship prize fund is 15000 euros.
