The President of the Chess Federation of Montenegro, FIDE Master, Jovan Milović, and Grandmaster Denis Kadrić are at the top of the table of the 78th Montenegrin Chess Championship with six points, after seven rounds played.
Milović and Kadrić each recorded two victories in today's duels. Milović defeated international master Blaž Kalezić in the sixth round in an extremely interesting game, after a series of tactical moves secured victory. In the afternoon round, Milović outplayed Oleg Jaksin with the white pieces, once again demonstrating his outstanding technique in the endgames.
Kadrić justified his role as the favorite against Mirsad Đoković in the sixth round, and in the seventh round he took advantage of his opening move in a duel with international master Aleksandar Tomic.
Milović and Kadrić meet in the eighth round, and the white pieces will be led by Milović.
Half a point behind the leading duo is the ten-time champion of Montenegro, grandmaster Nikola Đukić, who defeated international master Bogdan Podlesnik and FIDE master Miloš Pečurica in today's duels.
The fact that the excitement will last until the last round is confirmed by the fact that there are as many as eight players in the tie for fourth place.
