Montenegrin table tennis player Filip Radović is the winner of the challenger in Linz, Italy. He defeated his teammate Luka Bakić 3:0, in sets 11:4, 11:5, 11:9, in the final of the S10 category tonight.
This is Radović's second tournament win in the last seven days, after he was the best in the Polish Vladislavov last week. Both Montenegrin table tennis players reached the final in Linjan with maximum performance.
Earlier today, Radović eliminated Brazilian Gabriel De Oliveira 3:0 (11:3, 11:5,11:6) in the quarterfinals, while in the semifinals he defeated Pole Pawel Wlodika 3:0 (11:6, 11:6 and 11:3).
He earned a place among the top eight as the first-place finisher in the group, in which he was better than German Mio Wagner 3:0 (12:10, 11:4, 11:7) and Pole Igor Mištal 3:0 (11:5, 11:1, 11:2).
"Another good tournament for me. I'm happy that I won two tournaments in just seven days. I confirmed my good form from Vladislavovo and continued with good games in Linjan. I'm satisfied with how I played both tournaments, everything worked out the way I imagined. I'm happy that I regained good form, after a somewhat weaker end to last year," said Radović.
He also said that he was happy with Bakić's good performances and his place in the final.
"He beat great players and improved his form. I'm glad that the two of us met in the final. I hope there will be more," said Radović.
Bakić reached the finals with victories over Frenchman Mateo Bohas in the quarterfinals 3:1 (13:11, 14:12, 13:15, 11:8) and Austrian Christian Gardos in the semifinals 3:1 (11:3, 11:8, 8:11, 11:6).
He finished the competition in first place in the group, after victories against Brazilian Gabriel de Oliveira and Spaniard José Manuel Ruiz Reyes 3:0.
"A great tournament for me, from the first to the last point. I am very happy with the result. The Montenegrin final in Linjan, what more can I say. I missed a little in Poland, just one point to get through the group. I improved a lot by reaching the final in Linjan, let's move on," said Bakić.
Montenegrin table tennis players in Linjan were led by coaches Marko Jevtović and Čedomir Damjanović.
They will continue their fight for a place in the World Championship at the tournament in Podgorica, from April 29th to May 2nd.
