The fight against manipulation in sports and improving security at sporting events was the topic of a meeting between representatives of the Ministries of Sports and Youth, the Interior and the Police Directorate, it was announced after the meeting.
It is stated that the next steps towards the ratification of the Convention on the Manipulation of Sports Competitions (CETS 215) and the Convention on an Integrated Approach to Safety, Security and Service at Sports Events (CETS 218) were considered, which represent an important international framework for strengthening the integrity of sport and more effectively combating irregularities in this area.
The interlocutors agreed that it is necessary to further improve coordination and joint action of institutions, in order to ensure the full implementation of international standards and further strengthen the security and integrity of sports competitions in Montenegro.
The meeting was attended by the Director General of the Directorate for Sports Zoran Jojić, the Head of the Department for International Cooperation Ana Milačić, and the Secretary Savo Rašović, on behalf of the Ministry of Sports and Youth.
The delegation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Police Administration consisted of Daliborka Spasojević from the Directorate for International Cooperation, EU Integration and Projects, Teodora Klikovac, Chief Police Advisor (Police Sector of General Jurisdiction) and Miloš Radulović, Chief Police Inspector (Department for Public Order and Peace)
"The Ministry of Sports and Youth will continue with activities aimed at strengthening cooperation with relevant institutions and international partners in this area," the statement said.
