Our chess players draw against Lithuania

The Montenegrin chess team recorded its first draw at the World Team Championship for Visually Impaired Chess Players, under the auspices of the IBCA Federation in Petrovac.

After two wins and three losses, in the sixth round, the Montenegrin national team played 2:2 with Lithuania.

Coach Radenko Lacmanović's team had the start of the match that one could wish for.

International master Predrag Nikač, after only 19 moves, celebrated in a furious attack, in his favorite Dutch defense, against Gintaras Grybas.

Vjekoslav Vulević drew with Anatolijus Novikovas in a complicated position.

The remaining duels are on the third and fourth boards, and Radovan Damjanović recorded his fifth draw in a duel with Sigitas Berginas in a distant cannon ending.

The point for Lithuania was brought by Gediminas Ratkauskas, who defeated Milan Ivanovic.

The Lithuanian chess player sacrificed a piece, and Ivanovic found good defensive resources.

At a moment when it seemed he was on the verge of victory, he overlooked a checkmate move and allowed the Lithuanians to draw.

The opening move in today's duel was made by Zdravko Dragaš, executive director of Elektroprivreda, one of the sponsors of the championship.
