Montenegrin Sport during the First 20 Years is the title of a panel discussion organized on May 25th by the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education of the University of Montenegro, in cooperation with the Balkan Center for Science and Innovation (BISI).
The organizer announced that the event, in honor of marking 20 years of independence, will bring together prominent Montenegrin athletes and sports workers.
Famous Montenegrin athletes Draško Brguljan, Igor Vušurović, Marija Mara Jovanović, Miloš Ranitović and Vlado Šćepanović will speak and participate in the discussions.
"With their results and engagement, they have made a significant contribution to the development of sports and the international affirmation of Montenegro. Through discussions with the participants, key issues of the development of Montenegrin sports in the past two decades will be discussed, with a special focus on experiences from the largest international competitions, challenges on the path to top results, as well as the role of sport in promoting the country at the regional and global levels," the organizers said in a statement.
It was announced that a special segment of the discussion will be dedicated to reviewing the current position of sports in Montenegro, as well as defining a vision for its further development in the context of contemporary challenges and opportunities.
The organizers emphasize that the goal of this event is to contribute to a better understanding of the role of sport in society, through the exchange of experiences and opinions, as well as to the creation of guidelines for its future development.
The panel discussion is part of a broader program marking the anniversary of the restoration of Montenegro's independence and is intended for students, pupils, athletes and the interested public.
The panel discussion is scheduled for 12:00, May 25, in the Rectorate building of the University of Montenegro (Blue Hall).
