Montenegrin table tennis player Luka Bakić and Croatian Borna Zohil won gold medals in doubles (MD18) at the Challenger in Laško.
They defeated China's Chodong Li and Yi Qing Zhao in the final match today 3:2, in sets 6:11, 11:8, 12:14, 11:8 and 11:8.
They won the trophy after six wins.
As the first-place team in the group, after victories against the Spanish-Brazilian pair of Jose Manuel Ruiz and Carlos De Souza 3:2, Croatians Vjekoslav Gregorović and Vedran Vulin 3:0, and Australians Nathan Pelissier and Lucas Milsom 3:0, they earned a direct berth in the quarterfinals.
This was followed by victories against Ho Ka Sing and Wong Chi Yin from Hong Kong 3:0 and China's Shuai Zhao and Hao Lian 3:0 to advance to the finals and fight for the trophy.
This is Bakić's second medal at the Laško Challenger, after winning bronze in the S10 singles. He will continue competing at the Laško Elite Tournament on Monday.
