Mexico invests $12 million in Formula 1 track

The organizers of the Formula 1 Mexican Grand Prix announced today an investment of around $12 million in the Autodrom Brothers Rodriguez track.

Mexico City will host a Formula 1 race on November 11, as part of an agreement signed in April 2025 that guarantees races in the city until 2028.

"This investment represents our commitment to preserving our track as a world-class venue," said Mexican Grand Prix Director Federico Gonzalez Compean.

"Securing its international certification and continuously raising its technical standards is essential for Mexico to remain part of the Formula 1 calendar for years to come," added the race director.

Organizers stated that the work included asphalt renewal, improving track drainage and upgrading the pits, but not track modifications, which had been the subject of speculation.

Work has already begun under the supervision of German company Tilke, which participated in the redesign of the track when Formula 1 returned to Mexico in 2015.
