Montenegrin table tennis player Luka Bakić finished his performance at the Elite tournament in Laško with a silver medal.
Today, in the final of the S10 category, after a great fight and five exciting sets, he was defeated by Frenchman Mateu Bohas 3:2, in sets 6:11, 11:5, 11:8, 7:11, 11:9.
Earlier today, Bakić was convincing in the semi-final match against Thailand's Bunpot Silapakong 3:0 (11:4, 11:9, 11:6).
By reaching the finals at the Elite, as well as winning the bronze medal at the Challenger in Laško, he took a significant step towards qualifying for the World Championships in Thailand.
Bohas is the absolute winner in Laško, after winning the Challenger before the Elite at the end of last week.
The fight for the best possible ranking will continue in Ostrava, from June 18th to 20th.
Only 13 table tennis players will qualify for the championship - the winners of the continental championships and the six best placed players from the World Rankings.
Among the participants will be the best player in the world under 23 and one by special invitation.
The World Championship qualifiers will conclude on July 1st.
