Antonelli continues his dominance in Formula 1, recording his fifth consecutive victory in Monaco

Mercedes driver Andrea Kimi Antonelli won the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix today, recording his fifth consecutive triumph of the current season.

The Italian driver won five of the first six races of this season, followed by seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton of Ferrari in Monaco.

The final place on the podium was taken by Red Bull driver Isak Hadžar, who is under investigation for violating the rules during the red flag period (from lap 68).

Fourth place went to McLaren driver Oscar Piastre, fifth and sixth positions were taken by Racing Bull drivers Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad, Pierre Gasly of Alpina finished in seventh place, while eighth place went to Williams driver Alexander Albon.

Points were also scored by Hasa driver Esteban Ocon, as well as Cadillac's Sergio Perez, who is under investigation for a false start.

Four-time world champion Max Verstappen of Red Bull retired from the race on the first lap, having started from second place but having to retire due to engine failure.

Due to technical problems, reigning world champion Lando Norris of McLaren retired from the race on lap 45, while home driver Charles Leclerc of Ferrari ended the race by hitting the guardrail on lap 66, after which the race was stopped for 40 minutes.

In the overall standings, Antonelli leads with 156 points, Hamilton is second with 90 points, while Antonelli's teammate George Russell is in third place with 88 points.

The Formula 1 championship continues next week with the Catalan Grand Prix in Barcelona.
