The Montenegrin Championship in swimming in a 50-meter pool brought together 92 male and 87 female swimmers, who during three days of competition demonstrated a high level of fitness, great sportsmanship and achieved a series of notable results, the Water Polo Swimming Association announced.
In the team competition, the most successful club was Budva Budvanska rivijera, which won first place in the overall standings.
Second place went to the team Budućnost One, while third place went to Aqvatic Verde.
The title of the best men's team of the championship went to Aqvatic Verde, while the best women's team was declared Budva Budvanska Riviera.
Among the individuals, the swimmers from Budva particularly stood out.
Miloš Milenković was named the best male swimmer of the championship, while Jovana Kuljača won the award for best female swimmer.
The title of best junior was won by Daniel Adrović from Jadran M.tel, and the best junior was Jana Borović from Budva.
In the cadet competition, the most successful were Uroš Simović from Aqvatic Verde and Katarina Đurašković from Budva.
The best pioneer of the championship was Veljko Vučinić from Buducnost One, while the best pioneer was Sofija Jovanović from Aqvatic Verde.
In the younger pioneers' competition, the most successful was Vukan Jovanović from Budva, and among the younger pioneers, Nikolija Ožegović from Jadran M:tel.
The championship was also marked by new national records. The most outstanding performance was achieved by Miloš Milenković, who set new absolute records for Montenegro in the 100-meter freestyle, 200-meter butterfly and 200-meter freestyle events.
The pioneer state record in the 50-meter butterfly was set by Veljko Vučinić, while Nikolija Ožegović set a new Montenegrin record in the junior pioneer category in the 400-meter individual medley.
In relay events, new national records were achieved by the men's teams of the Aqvatic Verde and Butterfly Nikšić clubs.
"A large number of quality results, excellent organization and several new national records have once again confirmed that Montenegrin swimming continues to progress and create generations of talented athletes ready for challenges on the international stage. The National Championship showed that clubs across Montenegro are dedicated to developing young swimmers, which represents a strong foundation for the future successes of Montenegrin swimming," the Water Polo Swimming Federation announced.
Stefan Pupović, a member of the Orka swimming club from Budva, also stood out, winning three gold medals and the national champion title in the 50, 100 and 200 meter breaststroke.
