Montenegro with three teams at international school sports competitions

Montenegro will have three representatives at the international school sports competitions that will be held in Serbia in June, under the auspices of the International School Sports Federation (ISF).

At the European School Basketball 3x3 Championship, in Belgrade from June 13 to 19, students from the "Slobodan Škerović" Gymnasium from Podgorica and students from the Golubovci Mixed Secondary School will compete.

At the World School Basketball Championship, which is scheduled for Zlatibor from June 13 to 22, Montenegro will be represented by students from the "Miloje Dobrašinović" Gymnasium from Bijelo Polje.

The men's team of SMŠ Golubovci, which will feature: Uroš Đžankić, Vuk Grbavčević, Filip Kostić and Ognjen Stanković, is led by professor Stefan Varagić, while coach Mirjana Vujošević leads the women's team of the "Slobodan Škerović" Gymnasium; which consists of Ema Kaliđerčić, Sofija Stojanović, Anđela Janković and Jovana Vukmirović.

The leader of the Montenegrin expedition in Belgrade is Jovan Radulović.

The basketball team of the "Miloje Dobrašinović" High School consists of Milan Baltić, Matija Bošković, Matija Furundžić, Ognjen Jokić, Pavle Knežević, Milovan Milić, Ljuban Mujović, Luka Španjević, Andrija Vojinović and Andrija Šarić.

The team's coach is Predrag Femić, while the delegation leader is Matija Đurović.

The referees for both competitions were delegated by the Basketball Federation of Montenegro.

Dušan Babić from Berane will be the referee at the European Basketball Championship, while Vasilije Jovanović from Nikšić will be the referee at the World Basketball Championship.

The President of the Montenegrin School Sports Association, Budo Vukićević, thanked the institutions and partners who supported the participation of Montenegrin school teams in international competitions.

"We extend special gratitude to the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation, the Municipality of Zeta, the Bijelo Polje Sports and Recreation Center, as well as the company To Montenegro, whose contribution enabled our students to worthily represent Montenegro on the European and world stage," said Vukićević.

He emphasized that thanks to the joint support of institutions, local communities and socially responsible companies, young athletes were given the opportunity to gain valuable international experience and promote the values ​​of school sports.

"I am confident that our teams will show sportsmanship, knowledge and responsibility, and be proud ambassadors of their schools and country," said Vukićević.
