Current world champions continue dominance in Ohrid, Žarković among the top four

Ohrid hosted the Adriatic Teqball League tournament for the third year in a row, bringing together 40 players from 10 different countries. Competitors competed in two categories - singles and doubles.

The first part of the tournament was played at the "Grigor Prličev" Elementary School, while the final was held at the City Quay, outdoors, by Lake Ohrid, in an exceptional atmosphere and with great energy from the audience.

"We are very pleased that Ohrid is hosting the Adriatic Teqball League for the third year in a row. This tournament has once again shown that Ohrid has everything it takes to organize major sporting events - excellent conditions, an attractive location and an audience that gives off a special energy. We are especially pleased that we hosted players from 10 countries and that Teqball in our city is developing year after year," said local tournament organizer Kosta Trifunovski.

The dominance of Serbian players continued in Ohrid. Current world champions Nikola Mitro and Bogdan Marojević remained undefeated in the men's doubles, defeating the Hungarian pair Gergo Dombai / Gergo Varga in the final with a score of 2:0 (12:5, 12:5).

Mitro also won the singles title, defeating his partner from Teq Liman, Bogdan Marojević, in the final with a score of 2:1 (12:11, 9:12, 12:7).

"Another title for us, we continue our winning streak. The quality of the game was satisfactory, the tournament was well organized, there were a lot of good teams. Ohrid is one of the nicer places where tournaments are played, so we are satisfied with what we have achieved. I hope that we will continue the streak in Žabljak and that we will have nice weather and good playing conditions there as well," said Mitro.

The biggest surprise of the tournament was Marko Žarković from Teqball club Budućnost, who reached the semi-finals of the singles with great games. In the battle for the final, he put up a great fight against the eventual champion Nikola Mitr, but was defeated 2:0 (12:10, 12:9), in a match in which he showed that he can handle the very top of the world Teqball.

The next stop of the Adriatic Teqball League is Žabljak, where quality matches and new performances by the best Teqball players are expected to continue.
