Mornar athletes are the most successful participants in the 33rd Montenegrin Individual Championship for Younger Juniors in Bar.
Mornar finished the event with nine medals - three gold, four silver and two bronze.
The Sanja club from Bar finished in second place with seven medals (4 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze), while Jedinstvo from Bijelo Polje came in third with the same number of medals, but fewer gold ones.
On the second day of the championship, three results were set that were better than the current Montenegrin records for younger junior men and women:
In the 2.000 steeplechase, Enes Erović (AK Jedinstvo) achieved a result of 6:28,94, Sergej Martinović (AK Cetinje) ran the 400 meter hurdles in 56,52 seconds, while the AK Sanja 100+200+300+400 m relay team finished the performance in 2:26,60 minutes.
More than 130 athletes from 15 athletics clubs participated in the championship.
The Athletics Federation announced that the Championship was marked by four young athletes:
- Enes Erović (AK Jedinstvo) achieved a result of 6:28,94 in the 2.000-meter steeplechase and set a result better than the Montenegrin record for younger juniors.
- Sergej Martinović (AK Cetinje) ran 56,52 in the 400 meter hurdles, which is also a result better than the Montenegrin record.
- Anja Novaković (AK Sanja) was the most successful competitor of the championship with a total of six medals (3 gold and 3 silver).
- Andrej Đukanović (AK Mornar) was the most successful competitor of the championship with a total of six medals (2 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze medal).
