Kristina throws tomorrow, Sergej runs on Saturday in Rieti

The European Athletics U18 Championships begin tomorrow in Rieti, Italy.

Montenegrin athletics will be represented by Kristina Kljajević and Sergej Martinović, who have met the standards.

Kljajević will be the first to enter the stadium, as the shot put discipline is included in the schedule tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. in the qualifications.

Martinović will run the 110-meter hurdles qualifiers on Saturday starting at 11:45 a.m.

Our athletes earned the right to compete with results better than the European Athletics qualification standards. Their coaches will also be staying with the Montenegrin national team in Rijeti. Danilo Ristić is Kristina's coach and Siniša Cik is Sergejev.

"The performance in Rieti will be an opportunity for the Montenegrin national team to compete with the best peers from all over Europe, give their best and gain valuable international experience, which will represent an important step in their further sporting development," the Athletics Federation announced.

The championship will be held at the "Raul Guidobaldi" stadium, and according to the final entries, 1.104 male and female athletes from 48 European countries will compete.

A total of 40 disciplines will be held over the four competition days - 20 each in the men's and women's competitions.
