Pogačar blew away the competition and paved his way to a fifth Tour de France crown

Simply put, no one can keep up with Tadej Pogačar at this year's Tour de France.

The Slovenian dominated today's 14th stage, a 155-kilometer stage from Miloz to Mrkštejn with four classified climbs. The popular Pogi crossed the finish line first in a time of four hours and seven seconds. This is his fourth stage triumph in this year's Tour, and the 25th overall in his career.

He waited today, lurking for his chance, and then one kilometer before the final climb of the Col di Ag, he "kicked" into gear and left his main competitors Jonas Vingegore and Remko Evenpul in the dust.

Not only were they unable to keep up with Pogačar's pace, but they were also overtaken at the finish of the 14th stage by young Isaac Del Toro and domestic competitor Paul Seksa, who ultimately finished in second and third place, 38 seconds behind the Slovenian.

When it comes to the general classification, Pogačar increased his lead to four and a half minutes over Vingegoro and to five minutes and four seconds over Evenpula.

So, the Slovenian cyclist practically depends only on himself now. Unless there is a major setback by the end of the Tour or a fall, Pogi will have paved his way to a record fifth title in the world's biggest cycling race.

In the history of the Tour de France, only Jacques Anquetil, Eddy Merckx, Bernard Hinault and Miguel Indurain have won five titles. Considering he is only 27 years old, Pogačar is a serious candidate to become the man with the most Tour de France titles in the near future.
