Antonelli returned to winning ways, the race was marked by the Russell-Hamilton incident

After three consecutive races in which he failed to win, Andrea Kimi Antonelli returned to the top step of the podium at the Belgian Grand Prix.

The young Italian drove brilliantly at the famous Spa-Francochamps track and achieved his sixth triumph in this Formula 1 season.

Although Charles Leclerc took over the lead on lap 23, Antonelli gradually lost his lead and by lap 34 had overtaken him again and taken the lead. He easily maintained his lead until the end.

"It's good to be back on the top of the podium after a few tough races. I lost first place during the virtual safety car but I found a way to get back to first place. A tough win because Charles was fast," said the 19-year-old Italian driver.

Leclerc had to settle for second place, while Max Verstappen climbed to the last step of the podium.

The Ferrari driver believed he could win, he had good pace. He certainly sees second place as progress for him and the team.

- I believed in winning until the very end. We were lucky with the virtual safety car, and our pace was good. We struggled with the hard tires for five or six laps, but after that it was good. This is a step forward for us, I hope we continue like this - Leclerc emphasized.

The race in Belgium was marked by an incident between Lewis Hamilton and George Russell on the first lap. The Mercedes driver came out on top, and ended the Belgian Grand Prix just a few corners later.

Hamilton, Oskar Piastre, Isak Hađar, Lando Norris, Gabriel Bortoletto, Arvid Lindblad and Franco Colapinto also found a place in the fastest 10.

There has been a shift in the overall standings, but not in first place. The leading position is still firmly held by Antonelli, who has increased his lead and now has 204 points.
