French motorcyclist Fabio Quartararo will ride for the Honda factory team from next season, having signed a contract with the Honda HRC team for 2027 and 2028, the Japanese manufacturer announced today.
The 2021 Moto GP champion will be one of Honda's main reinforcements ahead of the start of a new era in the premier class, which will switch to 850cc motorcycles from 2027.
Quartararo made his MotoGP debut in 2019 and immediately attracted attention. He took his first pole position in just the fourth race, and finished his debut season with six pole positions and seven podium finishes.
The Frenchman won the world championship title in 2021, while a year later he finished the season in second place in the overall standings.
During his career in the MotoGP championship so far, he has achieved 11 wins, 32 podium finishes and 21 pole positions.
