Kristjan Čeh brings Slovenia new gold in discus throw, along with a European Championships record

Slovenian athlete Kristjan Čeh defended his European discus throw title last night in Birmingham.

The Czech celebrated with a shot of 72,51 meters, setting a new European Championships record.

This is the 27-year-old Slovenian's third medal from the European Championships, after silver in Munich in 2022 and gold in Rome in 2024.

This is Slovenia's fourth gold medal in the history of the European Championships.

Lithuanian Mikolas Alekna won silver with a throw of 69,89 meters, while bronze went to German representative Henrik Jansen with a throw of 69,53 meters.
