Jovan Milović was re-elected as the president of the Chess Federation of Montenegro at the election session of the Assembly of the Federation of Serbia and Montenegro held today, and will continue to lead the umbrella chess organization for the next four years. The current president received the unanimous support of the delegates present.
Milović's new mandate represents a continuation of the continuity in the work of the Chess Federation of Montenegro, which has made significant strides in the previous period on the organizational and international level. By organizing numerous domestic and major international competitions, Montenegro has further strengthened its position on the European and world chess scene.
Strengthening the international reputation of Montenegrin chess was one of the key features of the previous mandate, during which Montenegro became a recognizable host of significant European chess events.
"I would like to thank the club representatives for their trust. In the previous period, by working together, we have managed to implement numerous significant projects and further affirm Montenegrin chess on the international scene. We have new challenges and ambitious plans ahead of us, and our goal is to continue developing chess in all environments, and special attention will be paid to implementing chess in schools and kindergartens. We will provide even stronger support to clubs and young chess players, and we want to strengthen Montenegro's position as the host of the largest European competitions," said Milović.
The new Board of Directors of the Association was also elected at the meeting, which, in addition to Milović, will include Veselin Vanja Drašković, Božidar Bonja Ivanović, Dmitar Ćulafić, Predrag Marković, Nenad Radulović, Aleksandar Tomić, Nebojša Adžić, Radomir Uljarević and Igor Mijanović.
