The ceremony was organized on the occasion of December 10th, International Human Rights Day, and donations in the amount of six thousand euros were presented. The Parents' Association "OAZA" from Bijelo Polje, the First Association of Parents of Children and Youth with Developmental Disabilities from Podgorica, the Association of Parents of Children with Developmental Disabilities "Zračak nade" from Pljevlja, as well as the Association of Parents of Children and Youth with Developmental Disabilities "Puževa kućica" from Budva.
The donation was presented and Red Cross organizations from the Royal Capital of Cetinje and Rožaje.
As part of the ceremony, she addressed Volumen Lena Boskovic, said that this donation carries a strong message that every child is important, that every family deserves support and that equality must be visible in practice.
"We supported associations from Bijelo Polje, Podgorica, Pljevlja and Budva, because it is important to us to cover the whole of Montenegro and not to leave any city out. We are especially proud to have supported the Red Cross. The Red Cross of the Royal Capital of Cetinje, which this year celebrates its 150th anniversary, represents a pillar of humanity in our country, while the Red Cross of Rožaje symbolizes the values of multiculturalism and togetherness that Volumen wants to strongly promote," Bošković pointed out.
She added that this is just the beginning of the work of the Volumen Foundation and that their intention is to build a broad support network in the coming period that will contribute to the community.
"We will turn every humane idea into a concrete work," said Bošković.
Representative of the Parents' Association "OAZA" from Bijelo Polje, Rasema Hekalo, said that this donation will greatly improve the work of this organization.
"Our association has been facing serious funding challenges for several years, and support for projects has largely been lacking. That is why this donation is extremely important. I would like to thank the Volumen Foundation and people of good will who recognize our work and social responsibility," said Hekalo.
According to her, the donated funds will enable continuity in the work of the half-day stay that the OAZA Association has been organizing for years.
"This assistance means that we can continue to provide support to children and young people with developmental disabilities. I call on other companies and individuals to follow this example, because only by acting together can we build a society based on solidarity and humanity," said Hekalo.
Representative of the First Association of Parents of Children and Youth with Developmental Disabilities from Podgorica, Savo Knežević, pointed out that the donation from the Volumen Foundation came at the right time, especially at the end of the year when the organization's expenses and needs are added up.
"This donation is very important so that we can continue to provide services and support to children and young people with disabilities. Unfortunately, in the past period we have rarely received the funds we need to work directly with children, so this donation will be invested precisely for these purposes," said Knežević.
Representative of the Red Cross of the Royal Capital of Cetinje, Božidar Drecun, thanked the company Vesuv Volcano and their Volumen foundation for the donation, emphasizing that it represents an example of a high level of social responsibility.
"The donation will be directed precisely to those categories of the population that need it most. Each Red Cross organization in Montenegro has its own plans and target categories. These are primarily elderly citizens, beneficiaries of social assistance and households in severe social need. Unfortunately, the number of people who need this kind of support is growing day by day," said Drecun.
Representative of the Volumen Foundation, Goran Ćetković, said that in such situations, grand speeches are not needed, but that the most important thing is the intention with which the humanitarian action is conducted.
"Today was a wonderful event in which we felt good and, so to speak, recognized the goodness within us. Our slogan says: Goodness is within you – humanity protects it. And really, that's all that needs to be said," said Ćetković.
