Paralympic tennis player Igor Mijović finished his performance at the Balkan Championship in Vrnjacka Banja with a silver medal.
Mijović was defeated by Aleksej Radukić from Serbia 3:0 in the final match of the S8 category.
A member of the Podgorica club Luča, he reached the quarterfinals as the runner-up, with two wins and one loss.
He won against Petar Jurić 3:0 and Toni Mitrovski from North Macedonia 3:0, while he was defeated by Romanian Alin Nikolae 3:1.
In the quarterfinal match, he eliminated Robert Boroleanu from Romania 3:0, while he won the gold medal match by defeating Nikola Jovanović from Serbia 3:1.
Samra Kojić and Đuro Krivokapić were stopped one step away from medals.
Kojić was defeated by Zorica Popadić from Serbia 3:1 in the quarterfinal match of the combined categories 1-5.
Member Luče previously qualified for the continuation of the competition as second place in the group.
Krivokapić finished the competition in the group with a mediocre performance, and in the quarterfinal match of the S6 category he lost to Hamed Podbičanin from Serbia 3:0.
The remaining Montenegrin representatives, Milosav Femić (4-5), Milijana Ćirković (6-10), Miljan Cerović and Uroš Gugolj (8), finished in the group.
The Balcaba Championship will continue tomorrow with doubles and mixed doubles matches.
The national team is led by coach Čedomir Damjanović.
The championship brought together 64 competitors from Serbia, North Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Bulgaria, Turkey, Romania and Croatia.
