The basketball girls of the "Pavle Rovinski" elementary school are the best in the country,

The exciting National Basketball Championship has ended as part of the 43rd School Sports Games, which brought together the best school teams, winners of municipal and regional competitions, in both men's and women's competitions.

This year, the titles of the best in the country went to Budva and Podgorica. The final tournament for students was held in Bar, in the sports hall of the "Anto Đedović" elementary school. An incredible fight was witnessed in which all three teams achieved one victory each, so the new national champion was decided by the best basket ratio.

In the final round, the gold medal and the championship title were won by the Elementary School "Stefan Mitrov Ljubiša" from Budva, led by Professor Blaž Jabučanin. The Budva team reached the throne despite a defeat against Podgorica (25:31), thanks to a convincing triumph over the team from Bijelo Polje (53:10).

The silver medal went to the "Maksim Gorki" Elementary School from Podgorica with coach Professor Zvonko Prelević, while the bronze medal went to the "Risto Ratković" Elementary School from Bijelo Polje, led by coach Zoran Femić.

- This was an extremely dramatic and uncertain tournament in Bar, where nuances and literally every basket decided the title. My students showed exceptional character and mental toughness, especially after the defeat, when they found the strength to play the match at the highest level and achieve the advantage that brought us the historic throne. This title is a reward for the effort that these boys have invested throughout the year and we are proud to bring the national champion's cup to Budva - said the professor of the champion team, Professor Blažo Jabučanin.

Podgorica and the Elementary School "Novka Ubović" hosted the final tournament for girls, where the team from the Capital City completely dominated. The basketball team from the Elementary School "Pavle Rovinski" from Podgorica, under the leadership of Professor Dubravka Kovačević, achieved two convincing victories and deservedly lifted the trophy intended for the champions of Montenegro.

Second place and a silver medal were won by girls from the "Dašo Pavičić" Elementary School from Herceg Novi with coach Željko Milićević, while third place went to the "Marko Miljanov" Elementary School from Bijelo Polje and professor Irfan Kolić.

- I am proud of these girls who, throughout the championship, and especially at the final tournament in Podgorica, showed incredible unity, discipline and talent. The results and two convincing victories are the fruit of their dedicated work, but what makes me especially happy as a teacher is their behavior on the field and team spirit.
