According to the "New York Daily News", five police officers attacked the former 4th racket in the world, which was released after about 15 minutes, when the law enforcement authorities realized what a mistake they had made.
But Blake didn't go unscathed - he cut his elbow and got a scratch on his leg.
"This was definitely scary and crazy. I wouldn't say this was racially related, it was just a typical example of excessive use of force by the police," Blake said.
The two-time US Open quarterfinalist was about to watch tennis when he was suddenly thrown to the ground.
"I was approached by a policeman who didn't even show me a badge, he threw me to the ground and said: 'Don't say anything'. And I just stood there, I didn't run away. They apologized later, but the problem is that these kinds of things happen to many people without any reasons," Blake concluded.
