The first match of the tennis Davis Cup final will be played by Spaniard Rafael Nadal and Argentine Juan Monaco, it was decided by today's draw in Seville.
Spain is looking for its third Davis Cup trophy in the last four years, and its work will be somewhat difficult since David Nalbandian, who will play doubles with Eduard Švanko on Saturday, was absent from the singles draw.
The second tennis player in the world, Nadal, will thus return to the Olympic Stadium, where he won the title in 2004, and will meet the 26th player from the ATP list, Monaco.
In the second match tomorrow, David Ferrer, fifth on the ATP list, will play against Juan Martin del Potro.
Nadal and Ferrer have a joint record of 25:0 on clay in the Davis Cup.
On Saturday, Nalbandian and Švank will play against Felician Lopes and Fernando Verdasco.
On Sunday, Nadal and Del Potro meet, as well as Ferrer - Monaco.
The duel is played on the basis of three wins.
