Wimbledon organizers announced that they are continuing preparations for the tournament as if it will take place from June 29 to July 12.
All men's and women's professional tennis tournaments until June 7 have been canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) and the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) announced yesterday.
"The final decision will be influenced by our commitment to the health and safety of our members, staff and the public, and we are grateful to the government and public health authorities for their advice and support. Although at this time we continue to prepare for the tournament as if it will take place as scheduled, we will are responsible, in the best interest of the wider society. We thank all our members, staff, players, partners for their patience and trust," said Richard Lewis, executive director of the tournament.
The second Grand Slam of the Roland Garros season is scheduled from September 20 to October 4.
