The women's tennis team of Montenegro was defeated today by South Africa 3:0 in the third round of the tournament of the third group of the Euro-African Fed Cup zone in Vilnius.
With that defeat, the first in the tournament, the Montenegrin tennis players finished the competition in second place in the group and will continue to play for the seventh to 12th place in the tournament.
In the first two rounds, they defeated Azerbaijan 3:0 and Namibia 2:1.
In the first match, Tea Nikčević was defeated by Delijen Kleinhas 2:0 (7:5 and 6:1), while Šanel Simonds, the 372nd player on the WTA list, was better than Divna Ratković, 2:0 (6:1 and 6: 0).
In the doubles duel, Petra Mirković and Tea Nikčević lost to Delien Kleinhas and Lara Klaudija 2:0 (6:0 and 6:0).
The next opponent of the Montenegrin tennis players will be determined by lot.
