Olga Sharipova, the ex-girlfriend of Alexander Zverev, once again accused the German tennis player of abuse while they were in a relationship.
Nine months ago, she went public for the first time, saying that Zverev strangled her with a pillow during the US Open in New York in 2019., and now talks about the violence that happened during the tournament in Shanghai that same year.
In 2019, Sharipova traveled to the Chinese tour with Zverev.
"He was calmer and in control, and I felt safer," Sharipova said.
However, one night, Sharipova says, the incident happened again, because Zverev was furious that she was not in the hotel room when he returned.
"When I got out of the shower and went to get a towel, he came and said: 'Pack your things now and go.' I said to him, 'OK, can you just wait a few minutes? I'm naked here.' He started hitting me, and this time I realized I couldn't be a punching bag. I was just trying to protect myself. I'm a woman, I'm not very strong".
She also stated that Zverev was insulting while hitting.
"He started saying things to me like, 'I hope you die, you should have died yesterday, but not in my room. If you want to die, take insulin and go die on the street, because I don't want any problems. I don't want to mess with you anymore'. I cried and told him: 'OK, if you want me to die, give me insulin. I go to the street and that's it. I can't fight this anymore. What do you want from me?".
Zverev later went to the round of XNUMX match in Shanghai and there were visible scratches on the left side of his neck.
The two have not been in a relationship since.
Zverev denied the ex-girlfriend's story, but new accusations have arrived.
