Russian tennis player Danil Medvedev defeated Hubert Hurkač at the start of the ATP finals in Turin today - 2:1 (6:7, 6:3, 6:4).
In the second match of the red group tonight, Zverev and Beretini meet.
In the first set, not a single break point was seen, so the winner was decided by a tie-break in which Hurkač was calmer and eventually led 1:0.
Medvedev took the initiative at the start of the second set, broke in the second game and took a 3:0 lead. It turned out to be the only break in the 2nd set - the Russian was safe on the serve, he didn't let his rival have a break point, so he equalized quite easily.
The third set was identical to the second - Medvedev immediately reached the break, took a 2:0 lead, didn't let go of the advantage and in the end deservedly won.
