The director of the Miami Masters, James Blake, does not hide that he would like Novak Djokovic to play in that tournament.
He added that he does not agree with the position of the world's number one tennis player on vaccination, but that Djokovic is not a criminal because of that.
"All we need now is for Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic to show up. Yes, Djokovic," Blake said and continued:
"A lot of people are unhappy with Novak these days after all the visa and deportation stuff. No doubt he deserves some of the blame. But both Tennis Australia and the Australian government for mishandling a situation that got out of hand. It was sad to see the TV cameras and paparazzi surround Djokovic's car and see photos of him in the back seat as if he is a criminal," Blake pointed out.
The Miami Masters is scheduled from March 21 to April 3.
