Novak Djokovic ended his performance in Dubai in the quarterfinals, which means that on Monday he will hand over the first place in the rankings to Danilo Medvedev.
Better than Djokovic was the 123rd player in the world Jirži Veseli - the Czech advanced to the semi-finals by winning in two sets (6:4, 7:6).
Djokovic, who spent a total of 361 weeks at the top, was far from his level in the third match of the tournament.
The opponent made a break right at the start, which Djokovic returned in the fourth game, so that Veseli finally broke the first part of the game when he took away the serve for 4:3...
In the second set, Veseli was the first to break when he led 4:3, served for the match, but equalized at 5:5.
Everything had to be decided in a tie-break in which Veseli was more ready for winners, so he celebrated in the second match between them.
Veseli is waiting for the better of the duel between Denis Shapovalov and Rikardas Berankis in the semi-finals.
The second semi-final pair consists of Hubert Hurkač and Andrej Rubljov.
