Tennis career of Jiri Vesely: After Djokovic, he also broke Šapovalov

Czech tennis player Jiri Veseli continued with sensations at the ATP tournament in Dubai.

After Novak Djokovic, the 123rd player in the world also shocked the Canadian Denis Shapovalov and qualified for the final, where he will meet the Russian Andrei Rublev tomorrow.

In an extremely uncertain semi-final, Veseli defeated Shapovalov with a reversal, in three tie-breaks - 6:7 (7:9), 7:6 (7:2), 7:6 (7:3).

The Czech is definitely playing the tennis of his career, and at this tournament he had to pass the qualifications to reach the main draw.

Shapovalov even had a "match won", at 5:4 in the third set he served for victory and the final. However, he did not even reach the match point, Veseli returned the break behind, and in the very end he once again showed the incredible mental strength that graced him earlier in the tournament.

Veseli, who is 28 years old, will be chasing his third career ATP title against Rublev in the final. So far he has won Auckland in 2015 and Pune in 2020.
