Norwegian Kasper Rud and Spaniard Carlos Alsaras will play in the Masters final in Miami.
After in the first semi-final Rud convincingly defeated the biggest surprise of the tournament, Argentinian Fransisko Ćerundola, 6-4, 6-1, in the second semi-final, the young Alcaras beat defending champion Polish Hubert Hurkač 7-6 (5), 7-6 (2). .
Alkaras also showed great form in Miami after reaching the semi-finals two weeks ago in the tournament of the same category in Indian Wells.
For both 23-year-old Rud and 18-year-old Alkaras, this will be the first appearance in the final of a tournament from the Masters series.
Rud has won seven ATP tournaments so far, six of them on clay, and five in 2021, and he also has one title from 2022 won in Buenos Aires.
Alcaraz has two trophies, also on clay, the first in Umag last year, and the second earlier this year in Rio de Janeiro.
If he wins the title, Alcaraz will become the third youngest winner of the Masters in history, after Michael Cheng (Toronto 1990) and Rafael Nadal (Monte Carlo 2005).
