The eighth tennis player in the world, Kasper Rud, reached the semifinals of Roland Garros last night, after defeating the Danish player Holger Rune 6:1, 4:6, 7:6, 6:3.
The Norwegian player triumphed over the 40th player in the world in three hours and 15 minutes.
Rud made two breaks in the first set and easily took the lead.
In the next set, the first break is made by the Norwegian in the fifth game, but Rune returns the same measure in the next game.
The Dane reached the decisive break in the 10th game, without losing a point.
In the third set, the tennis players made one break each, and the set went to a tie-break.
Rud made a series of five tied points in the tie-break and ended the 7th game with 2:13.
The key moment in the fourth set happened in the eighth game, when Rud realized the fourth break point.
This was the first Scandinavian quarter-final in the history of the Paris Grand Slam tournament.
In his first Grand Slam semi-final, Rud will play against the 23rd tennis player in the world, Croatian player Marin Čilić.
In the second semi-final, the third and fifth ranked tennis players in the world Alexander Zverev and Rafael Nadal meet.
