Kasper Rud reached the Roland Garros final for the second year in a row.
Last time he had to congratulate Rafael Nadal, now Novak Djokovic who was better in three sets - 7:6, 6:3, 7:5.
The Norwegian was a serious opponent at the "Chatrije", but he could not prevent Djokovic from reaching his record 23rd Grand Slam title.
"I have to address Novak - this is another day and another record for you. You are rewriting the history of tennis," said Rud.
He didn't stop there, he knows very well who Novak is.
"It's hard to explain how incredible all of this is, how good you are and what an inspiration you are to so many people around the world," said Rud and added:
"I am happy to be in the final of Roland Garros again. I will continue to work hard and believe that I will return to this stage".
