History is written, Novak Djokovic reached his record 23rd Grand Slam title - he left behind Rafael Nadal with 22, who did not even play at Roland Garros this year.
The Serbian ace was emotional in his speech at "Šatrije".
"This is very special, one of the greatest moments in my career because of the 23rd Grand Slam title," said Novak and added:
"Maybe it's a coincidence that I won the 23rd title right here in Paris, because this tournament has always been the hardest for me".
He also praised Kasper Rud, whom he defeated in three sets in the final.

"You are among the most respected players on the tour, kudos to you. In today's world, it means a lot, when someone has human, real values. I'm sorry for your result today. I want you to win always, except against me. If I lose earlier at a Grand Slam, I want you to win the title later," Djokovic pointed out.
