The Spanish tennis player, Carlos Alkaras, defeated Andrej Rubljev today and registered his first victory at the ATP finals in Turin, but also the first victory of his career at the final Masters.
Alkaras won after two sets - 7:5, 6:2.
The first set saw a great fight, it was uncertain, and the Spanish tennis player did not use the first break point in the ninth game.
But, in the 11th game, Alkaras used the third break point, took away the rival's serve, took the lead 6:5, and then reached the lead in the sets.
There wasn't too much drama in the second - Alkaras broke right away, took a 2:0 lead, tied three games at 3:2 and won. The young Spanish tennis player won the last three games without losing a point.
Alkaras remained in the race for a place in the quarterfinals, and before the clash against Medvedev in the third round, the score is 1-1.
Medvedev and Zverev meet tonight in the second match of the second round of Group B.
