In the second set, there was no break until the eighth game. Then Noskova took the opponent's serve, led 5:3, then equalized in sets and announced a sensation.
Noskova was the first to break in the third set and take a 2:1 lead. However, in the next game, Sfjontek returned the break and equalized (2:2), and in the seventh game, the young Czech tennis player made another break, which she saved until the end of the match.
In the last game, Noskova served for the win, Sfjontek had 0:30, but she could not return to the match.
"I'm really speechless. An incredible match. I'm honored to be in the round of 16," said Noskova after the match.
In 2023, Noskova was eliminated in the first round of qualifications. A year later, she eliminated the best in the world and reached the round of XNUMX.
On the other hand, Sfjontek ended its participation in Melbourne earlier than last season, when it reached the round of 16.
