The boy from South Tyrol over the ruler of the "Rod Laver Arena" Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals and Danilo Medvedev in the unforgettable marathon final, at the age of 22, he hugged the cup of one of the Grand Slam tournaments for the first time.
Siner once again discussed many topics with the journalists, and the two legends of this sport, Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer, were also an unavoidable story.
"Djokovic's ten titles in Melbourne? I don't think about it, he is a different dimension," Siner said, as reported by "Gazeta delo sport".
However, even that did not change his opinion when it comes to the maestro from Basel.
"Federer remains my idol, he always has been. Not only because of his class but also because of the way he presented himself - it's important to surround yourself with the best people and to face every challenge with a smile on your face," added the champion Australian opened.
After bringing the Davis Cup title to Italy for the first time since 1976 at the end of last year, Sinner became only the second tennis player from that country to win the Grand Slam title in the open era - the first also came in 1976 when Adriano celebrated at Roland Garros Panata.
