This year's edition of the Hopman Cup has been cancelled, because the date of the tennis tournament is very close to the Olympic Games in Paris, the International Tennis Federation announced today.
The mixed team tennis tournament was supposed to take place in Nice at the end of July, while the Olympic tennis tournament is scheduled from July 27 to August 4.
The Hopman Cup will reportedly return to the calendar in 2025.
This tournament, named after the Australian great Harry Hopman, began to be held in 1989 and was played every year until 2020. It continued last year in France, and was won by Croatian tennis players Dona Vekić and Borna Ćorić.
