The world's best tennis player, Novak Djokovic, defeated Australian Aleksandar Vukić 2:1 (6:2, 5:7, 6:3) last night and advanced to the third round of the Masters in Indian Wells.
Djokovic recorded his first victory in Indian Wells in five years, and the 400th of his career in tournaments from the 1000 series.
And the Serbian tennis player came to victory more difficult than expected, even though he routinely won the first set. Djokovic broke in the first game, then in the seventh game he once again took the rival's serve and reached the lead in sets.
A bigger fight was seen in the second set, in which Vukić immediately broke and took the lead - 3:0. But Đoković reacted quickly, tied three games and equalized - 3:3. After that, the tennis players were safe until the 12th game when Vukić used the second set ball and equalized.
In the third game of the third set, Djokovic missed two break points, but in the fifth game he managed to take his rival's serve, lead 3:2, preserve his advantage and advance to the next round.
Djokovic will play against Italian Luka Nardi in the next round.
