Last night, the best tennis player in the world, Novak Djokovic, won the first Masters in Indian Wells since 2019.
After three sets, Djokovic defeated the Australian tennis player, Aleksandar Vukić (6:2, 5:7, 6:3), advanced to the third round and reached his 400th victory at Masters tournaments.
"It's nice to come back after five years. They call this tournament a tennis paradise, it really is. Everyone feels good, from players, coaches, tennis fans, fans, people who come to support this tournament. A phenomenal tournament, every year it gets better . I'm really glad that I was able to come back and win," Djokovic said.
Djokovic praised Vukic.
"He played great. He deserved a big round of applause, you could see the crowd's reaction when he came off the court. The quality was really high, especially in the second set and at the beginning of the third. He played incredible forehands, he served very well, it was difficult to go through him," Djokovic said.
Djokovic will play against the Italian Nardi in the third round.
