The number one tennis player in the world, Novak Djokovic, announced that he will not play at the Masters in Miami.
Djokovic said that he has to make a balance between his private and professional schedule, and that he regrets that he will not play in the second Masters in the season.
"Unfortunately, I will not be playing at the Miami Open this year. At this stage of my career, I am balancing my personal and professional schedule. I regret that I will not experience the fans who are among the best and most passionate in the world. I look forward to performing in Miami in the future," Djokovic wrote on social networks.
Djokovic played at the Masters in Indian Wells, but lost to Luka Nardi in the third round.
The Serbian tennis player is expected to be on the field at the Masters in Monte Carlo, which starts on April 7.
The Masters in Miami is on the program from March 20 to 31, and the title is defended by Danil Medvedev.
