Russian tennis player Roman Safiulin qualified for the second round of Masters in Monte Carlo today, defeating Spaniard Jaime Munar 2:0 - 7:5, 6:1.
In the second round, he will play against the best tennis player in the world, Novak Djokovic.
Safijulin, the 41st tennis player in the world, reached the victory over the 72nd player on the ATP list after an hour and 37 minutes of play.
So far, Djokovic and Safijulin have met only once, when the Russian celebrated at the tournament in Tel Aviv.
The duel between Djokovic and Safijulin is scheduled for tomorrow.
