Italian tennis player Janik Siner advanced to the third round of Roland Garros last night, after defeating the 124th player in the world, Frenchman Richard Gasquet, after three sets - 6:4, 6:2, 6:4.
The second tennis player in the world won after two hours and 16 minutes.
He broke serve five times to Gasquet, who broke once.
"Everything was better now than in the first match against Jubanks. Especially my serve went well in important moments. He is a player who gives you rhythm and I felt the shots better, my percentages were higher," Siner said after the match.
In the third round, Siner will play against Pavel Kotov from Russia, who defeated Steno Wawrinka.
"I'm not burdened by thinking about the first place in the world. I'm aware that I can't train more than I already do, nor can I try to win anymore. I follow the results of other tennis players when I can, but it's more important for me to rest and not stress too much with that," said the winner of the Australian Open.
