The Spanish and Greek tennis players, Carlos Alkaras and Stefanos Tsitsipas, reached the quarterfinals of Roland Garros today.
Today, Alkaras convincingly defeated Felix Auger Aliasim 3:0 (6:3, 6:3, 6:1), while Tsitsipas eliminated Mateo Arnaldi - 3:1 (3:6, 7:6, 6:2, 6: 2).
The Spanish tennis player made two breaks in the first set against Auger-Alijas and took the lead in the sets. In the second set as well, Alkaras took away the rival's serve twice and easily reached a 2:0 advantage.
The third set was more convincing - Alkaras took a 5:0 lead and qualified for the next round, where they will play against Tsicipas, who had a little more difficulty winning today.
Arnaldi broke in the fourth game of the first set, managed to preserve the advantage and lead 1:0.
In the second set, the Italian again had a break advantage, then in the 10th game he served for 2:0 in the sets, but then Tsitsipas made a break, equalized (5:5), and then in the tie-break reached an even in the sets.
At the start of the third set, the Greek took a 2:0 lead, then took another break and reversed, to take a 4:0 lead in the fourth set and advance to the next stage.
